"Association Biostimulants in Agriculture" (Arbeitskreis Biostimulanzien in der Agrikultur) (ABISTA)
The "Association Biostimulants in Agriculture" (ABISTA) is an association of firms and individuals concerned with the distribution and use of Bio-Stimulants and their application in agriculture. ABISTA aspires to collect the available knowledge on the subject of plant nutrition and the relateduse of Bio-Stimulants and to make it available to the relevant authorities and in political circles with the aim of harmonising the usage regulations within Europe.
ABISTA emerged from the expert Symposium Micro‐organisms as agents between fertilization and plant protection which was attended by 62 delegates from 12 countries representing both industry and science. The meeting was organised by the Deutsche Phytomedizinische Gesellschaft (German Phytomedical Society), the Julius Kuehn Institute and the Fakultät Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau (Faculty of Agriculture and Horticulture) of the Humboldt University of Berlin and took place in 2014 in Braunschweig (Germany).
ABISTA aims to make available to foodstuff producers and those responsible for political decisions an insight into the available knowledge about natural and resource-saving production of foodstuffs gained in European research programmes, in particular the European research Network Biofector.
On the occasion of the DLG Field Dayon the afternoon of the 18th of June 2014 in the nearby Anhalt Universitywe discussed the future course of action for the "Association Biostimulants in Agriculture”.
